In connection with Computershare’s purchase of the corporate trust business of Wells Fargo (WFCTS), Computershare has created a business unit, Computershare Corporate Trust (CCT) and Computershare is seeking to recruit various roles in the Second Line of Defence to oversee the management of Risk within the CCT business, both during its integration activity which is due to cover the next 24-36 months and as an business as usual operating environment.

The Conventional Debt & Specialized Products Risk Partner for CCT is a senior role within the Global Risk Group. The Computershare Corporate Trust business operates a Conventional Debt comprising of Debt Trustee Services, Successor Trustee, and acting in various Trustee roles in public-private partnerships. Specialized Services comprises of Broker register Products, Oil and Gas Royalties and Private Capital solutions. The role is accountable for supporting, challenging and overseeing the Conventional Debt & Specialized Products division in appropriately and effectively managing their risk profile – financial and non-financial risks. The role will form a team of risk professionals to oversee the management of risk within the CCT business both during integration and as a business operating as part of the CPU organisation. During the integration period the CCT business will be moving from operating under Wells Fargo Risk and Compliance Frameworks to CPU Risk and Compliance Frameworks. Therefore, experience of Integration Risk Oversight and Risk Oversight for a Conventional Debt & Specialized Products on an operational level is required.

The essential duties / core responsibilities of the position include the following, with others to be assigned:

  • Accountable for the independent 2nd line risk coverage for the Conventional Debt & Specialized Products division within CCT acting as a constructive and where appropriate challenging partner to the business unit.
  • Partner with the First Line of Defence to provide an effective service which supports and oversees the management of Risk within Conventional Debt & Specialized Products division of CCT. (key business and product risks including both financial and non-financial risks).
  • Provide training, guidance, toolsets and program oversight for core ERM programs including pRCSA, Issues management, and Loss event Identification / Root Cause analysis and the development and execution of new and modified new business activities.
  • Supporting and delivering on all risk programmes driven globally – (including but not limited to) Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Conduct Risk, Top Risks, Risk Metrics and Loss Events.
  • Supporting and overseeing Third Party Risk, Third Party Due Diligence, Outsourcing and Inter-company agreements relevant to Conventional Debt & Specialized Products.
  • Supporting the Head of Business Partnering and/or CCT Chief Risk Officer to ensure that appropriate information is provided for the relevant boards, forums and committees within the CCT management and Board Structure (CTCNA).
  • Support the strategic and operational development of the GRC tool.
  • Partner with CCT Compliance teams to ensure effective oversight of all business risk for the CCT business.

What will you bring to the role?

  • The Structured Products Risk Partner will have prior experience in a senior role in risk advisory, legal, audit and compliance experience within a global organization. The role holder will fully understand enterprise wide risk and will support the development of an appropriate risk strategy aligned with corporate strategy. A broad understanding across credit, market, strategic and in depth understanding of operational risk is required for the role.

  • 10+ years financial services experience in a risk management capacity in a regulated financial services firm.

  • Experience in shaping and implementing risk frameworks with a significantly sized Corporate Trust Business.

  • The role holder will be credible at both senior and executive level and will have a proven track record working at a senior level across all risk types in a complex, global environment. The role requires previous leadership skills with the ability to support and challenge businesses in equal measure.

Compensation. $100,000-$150,000 per year (Please note that this compensation is for Denver, CO based candidates)
