Description:Derco Aerospace, Inc., a Lockheed Martin Company, is an industry-leading aerospace distributor of spares, components, and services. Derco is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Staff Contracts Negotiator who is looking for a challenging work environment. The selected individual will be responsible for preparing and negotiating contracts, terms and conditions, correspondence, and certifications in support of sales and supply activities integral to Derco’s global aircraft support business. The position will involve occasional domestic and international travel.

Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of customer and supplier facing contracts, including with the U.S. Government, Foreign Governments, and domestic and international commercial entities.
  • Reviewing and drafting contracts, non-disclosure agreements, letters, and memoranda in connection with Derco’s day-to-day customer, partner, and supplier relationships.
  • Reviewing and negotiating standard terms and conditions of purchase and standard terms and conditions of sale.
  • Reviewing customer tenders and providing feedback to the business concerning contractual and operational areas of concern.
  • Preparing certificates and corporate documents in support of foreign tenders and bid registrations.
  • Analyzing contractual risks and documenting risk assessment and mitigation efforts.
  • Participating and/or leading negotiations with customers and suppliers.
  • Maintaining electronic library of legal agreements.
  • Reviewing information for appropriate labelling and release protocols.
  • Supporting compliance initiatives and process improvements.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of professional experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Able to communicate complex business and contracts issues in a clear and concise manner
o Able to persuade others
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts
  • Demonstrated experience of Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement.
  • Familiarity with various agreement types, such as non-disclosure/proprietary information, teaming, and basic ordering agreements
  • Strong analytical skills; able to quickly comprehend issues at hand
  • Personal responsibility to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work within and across groups
  • Ability to manage significant work volume in a very dynamic business and compliance environment
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and be able to quickly understand facts and assumptions to decisively recommend a future course of action
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desired Skills:
  • Ability to find or develop creative solutions to business and contractual problems
  • Experience contracting with the United States Government and familiarity with the FAR
  • Previous experience in the aerospace or defense industry
  • Working knowledge of financial terms such as orders, sales, profit, fee, EBIT, and ROS, and their applicability to contracts
