Job Description

Keystone Human Services is the parent organization of six nonprofit subsidiary companies. Our services include the areas of intellectual disabilities, autism, mental health, Head Start, and an internationally accredited service dog program.

Keystone Human Services is currently seeking Community Participation Associates to join our team of professionals in making a positive difference in the lives of our neighbors and the community.

The Work:

  • Develop appropriate supports for individuals based on an individualized determination of the strengths, needs and interests of the persons served
  • Work with the individuals to complete the “Discovery Process”, identifying themes and ideal conditions of employment to develop potential employment ideas
  • Engage in person centered supports and service by highlighting the personal contribution of the person; developing and using personal, professional, and organizational networks and community connections; and identifying civic, volunteer and work experiences tailored to the individual
  • Target individualized goals in order to negotiate with the potential employers based on the needs, strengths, and interests
  • Identify community involvement activities according to individual needs, strengths, and interests
  • Complete task analysis, identifying the activities and methods needed for successful participation in community groups and activities
  • Develop individual for community involvement, provide personal skill instruction to assist with appropriate appearance, interaction, and social skills consistent with the community environment
  • Work with members of the community to teach and model effective ways to provide natural supports to help the person be successful in the social role identified
  • Assist with coordination of transportation

Minimum Requirements:

  • Knowledge of and ability to implement positive behavior change techniques preferred
  • Knowledge of community resources including volunteer and potential vocational opportunities preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License with daily access to a privately maintained and insured vehicle
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to utilize internal software programs
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Successful completion of required trainings within specified timeframes, including First Aid and CPR certifications and others mandated by regulations
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including motor vehicle record and criminal background checks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
