Position Overview

Katapult is seeking a Collections Specialist for our Plano, Texas location. The Collections Specialist is responsible for making contact with customers who have fallen behind on their lease payment and delivering a positive experience in resolving the late payment(s). Katapult has career planning opportunities that will allow this position potential future career growth based on performance.


Primary Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Contact Katapult customers both outbound and inbound regarding their late lease payment, with customer experience and retention as fundamental principles
  • Express empathy and acknowledgement if the customer is demonstrating a financial hardship
  • Apply assertive and assumptive techniques to mitigate delinquencies and losses to the overall lease portfolio
  • Overcome objections by customers where appropriate, with rebuttals that reinforce the benefits of making lease payments on time and maintaining current status
  • Observe all compliance and regulatory requirements in any customer communications
  • De-escalate and remediate customer experience issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills including active listening
  • Previous collections experience preferably in a customer-centric collections environment
  • Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible work schedule which may include nights and weekends
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a call center environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Lease/Rent to Own business experience is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
