Coating Formulation Chemist

As a Development Chemist you will work primarily in the laboratory as a member of automotive refinish clear coat development team in Allison Park, PA! Do you enjoy leading independent projects or portions of larger projects to develop and commercialize new products? You will provide innovative technical solutions to ambitious problems!

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate initiative and ability to conceptualize and tackle problems
• Plan, direct, coordinate, and conduct the experimental work to meet project goals and timeline
• Interact with global development labs, research team, marketing team, production team and customers to drive projects forward
• Demonstrate Sigma logic methodology for design of experiment and data analysis
• Provide support to customer and production related issues in a timely fashion
• Regularly communicate and share knowledge and expertise within the team and with collaborators
• Work on multiple projects and prioritize tasks based on changing priorities and timelines
• Learn and improve continuously as individual and as part of the team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 7 years of formulation experience or Master’s degree with 5 years of experience, or PhD degree with 1 year of industrial experience is required.
• Knowledge of common coating formula techniques and testing procedures is preferred.
