Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical Crouse-Hinds division is currently seeking a 3rd shift CNC Setup Operator (CNC2) to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, New York facility. This role starts at $20.70/hr with room for growth after further training.

In this function you will:

  • Setup and operate CNC machines to perform a variety of drilling, boring, reaming, threading, facing, and milling operations following specific instructions.
  • Change collets and/or chucks, load and adjust tools as necessary.
  • Load programs and set controls for manual operation. Initiate and ensure accurate tool settings and tape data input.
  • Make minor edits to program including work shift correction and z-depth excluding thread milling depths and diameter edits.
  • Check first piece using fixed or adjustable gauges and obtain approval from appropriate supervision prior to initiating production runs.
  • Perform similar or associated duties as required or directed, including the operation of auxiliary equipment such as manual tapping arms, grinders, and sanders

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • One-year CNC machinist experience working with both manual and CNC machines
  • Experience working with blueprints, schematics, and related drawings
  • Familiar with machine shop math
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographic area (50 miles) of Syracuse, NY will be considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years CNC machinist experience including set up on both manual and CNC machines.
