Job Description

Clinical Psychologist – Addison, TX

Seeking a US Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist and/or Military Spouse to work as a Clinical Psychologist. The Clinical Psychologist provides evidence-based care to veterans and their families. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or (Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology program. Current State of Texas License to practice psychology. If licensed in another state, must obtain temporary Texas licensure and formal licensure within 6 months of employment; 3+ years of clinical experience and experience utilizing an electronic health record required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based treatment and assessment for veterans and their families.
  • Perform and document patient’s screenings, psychosocial assessments, and progress and referral information.
  • Conduct clinical intake assessments on veterans and family members as needed.
  • Provide individual, couples, and family psychotherapy to patients, focus on delivering evidence-based treatments.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with caregiver, physician, director, case management and other disciplines to provide best care to patients.
  • Attend weekly clinical, supervision, and administrative meetings.
  • Provide services via telehealth platform. Assist with training and research.
  • Provision of occasional community presentations related to the mission of the clinic

Requirements:

  • Veteran or military family member strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with military or veteran population strongly preferred.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or (Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology program.
  • Current State of Texas License to practice psychology. If licensed in another state, must obtain temporary Texas licensure and formal licensure within 6 months of employment.
  • 3+ years of clinical experience preferred. Experience utilizing an electronic health record required.
  • Training and expertise in evidenced-based psychotherapies preferred.
  • Experience across a range of modalities beyond individual adult treatment, child, couples, family, and group treatment preferred.
  • Must have experience treating and diagnosing posttraumatic stress and comorbid diagnoses, with evidence-based treatments and providing clinical supervision in these areas.
  • Able to establish positive and productive working relationships; Able to generate trust; Able and willing to give and receive honest, balanced feedback.
  • Awareness of and responsiveness to cultural considerations, race and ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and religion/spirituality.
  • Ability to present a friendly and positive demeanor to veterans, families, staff, clinic support personnel, funders, and the general public. Ability to make oral presentations.
  • Ability to remain calm and maintain self-control in the midst of difficult circumstances and emergencies. Ability to respond in a professional manner in all situations.
  • Ability to think analytically and evaluate the impact of case management recommendations. Ability to set work priorities and to evaluate and create solutions to work related problems.
  • Ability to negotiate veterans or their family members down from stressful situations, potential threatening behaviors. Ability to persuade clients to make appropriate life decisions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
