Job Summary:Exciting opportunity for an experienced Chemical Mix Technician to join our Winning Team. In this role, you'll partner with Operations and Maintenance technicians to perform chemical maintenance on electroplating & Chemical Etch baths, manage fab Chemical waste extraction & storage in the chemical storage room, maintain Chemical inventory storage levels in the local point of use location and in general support maintenance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment used in the production of state of the art MEMS products. SHIFTOur Technicians work a Compressed Work Week (CWW). This means that each pay period you work three 12-hour shifts one week, and four 12-hour shifts the following week*. Per California law, you will be eligible for Overtime Pay (1.5X Hourly Rate) for all time worked over 8 hours in one shift (24.5 hours of OT per two week pay period). Shifts available:A Shift (front half days) - 6am - 6:15pm Sunday -Tuesday, and every other Wednesday
B Shift (front half nights) - 6pm - 6:15am Sunday -Tuesday, and every other Saturday (+15% shift differential)
C Shift (back half days) - 6am - 6:15pm Thursday - Saturday, and every other Wednesday
D Shift (back half nights) - 6pm - 6:15am Wednesday - Friday and every other Saturday (+15% shift differential)
  • These CWW schedules only apply to our Livermore and San Jose locations, and include breaks and meal periods
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Acquire an understanding of the Fab processes and the equipment sets in terms of machine function, materials used & chemical formulations to ensure process chemistry meets or exceeds process criteria
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance per our equipment data base PM scheduler and escalate solutions to issues found during PM’s
  • Performing chemical PMs, draining and filling chemical baths, replacing filters, measuring pH, ST and Be, and being a productive and responsible member of the technician team
  • Collect samples for chemical analysis and make adjustments based on the analysis report
  • Properly and safely handle and dispose all hazardous chemicals and wastes per regulatory requirements, and FFI’s policies and procedures. Personnel who handle hazardous and universal waste must take have current training provided by FFI
  • Safely move heavy chemical drums, containers and chemical carts using drum assists and proper lifting technique
  • Work effectively and cooperatively with engineers and supervisors
  • Assist process engineers when help is needed
  • Organizing the Chem room workspace, maintaining cleanliness of equipment, creating chemical solutions, and performing chemical bath changes
  • Follow Work Instructions and recipes in the preparation and construction of new chemical baths and equipment set-ups
  • Maintain an inventory of equipment, supplies, and tools
  • Maintain and make suggestions to improve work instructions and keep good documentation
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • 2 Year Technical/Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline or equivalent military training / work experience.
  • Fluency in English Language – written & verbal
  • At least 7 years of experience in high tech semiconductor or equivalent technology vacuum equipment management activity
  • Previous experience in a wafer fabrication and/or chemical maintenance is preferred.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness
  • Providing information to supervisors and co-workers, by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Competent with Windows OS interfaces, MS office suite and other SW programs that enable the needs of the position
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, prioritize tasks, and plan for materials needed is essential
  • Use hand tools including wrenches, Screw drivers, Drum Dollies, and other various equipment technology specific tooling
  • Basic understanding of the metric system for weights and measurements
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, protective glasses, face shields, aprons, rubber boots, etc. Must not be allergic to common forms of rubber and plastics use of PPE.
  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets and the associated chemical hazards and storage needs.
  • Ability to move chemical drums, containers, and chemical carts using the proper equipment and lifting and moving techniques.
Working Conditions:
  • Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, or crouching for prolonged periods of time – up to 8 hours or more per day
  • Grasping or pinching and manual dexterity
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, walking, handling of chemical containers/boxes, pushing carts, and pushing/pulling drum trucks/lifters.
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs and moving greater than 600-pound chemical drums with a drum dolly and carts
  • Able to work in semiconductor FAB and laboratory environments which includes hazardous equipment, energies, chemicals, magnetic fields, radiation sources, and other hazardous process.
  • Ability to wear a respirator
  • Work area has fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
  • Moderate to loud noise level
  • Must be available to work overtime and weekends when the job demands it
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocol/requirements
  • Able to wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment for normal 8 or 11.5 hour shift (excluding breaks)
