We are currently looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our CODA team. This individual performs under the direct supervision of the licensed medical professional (LMP) to provide support to the medical staff and coordinate care within the program. In this position, you would be required to fulfil the following functions:

  • Prepare patients for examination by Licensed Medical Professional by performing vital signs, medication reconciliation, EKGs, phlebotomy as indicated, and giving patients medical history forms. Assist patients filling out medical history forms if they are unable to complete by themselves.
  • Schedule appointments by making arrangements with the program facility, verifying times with patients, preparing charts, pre-admission and consent forms.
  • Coordinate care in the form of requesting of records, communicating progress, acting as liaison between internal and external influences, gathering of information, and preparing reports.
  • Assist medical staff in monitoring patient medical status, measuring patient vital signs, and performing other routine medical procedures as direct by LMP; maintain up to date documentation of observations and evaluations in patient electronic medical record.
  • Administer injectable medication as delegated by LMP, monitor progress and side effects.

Requirements

The following qualifications and experience are important for success in this position:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Minimum two years of experience in an ambulatory care outpatient, primary care, or urgent care environment and with an ongoing patient panel.
  • CMA Certification and/or completion of coursework needed to attain the required licensure for this position.
  • Ability to perform blood draws.
  • Ability to travel to various sites as needed.

All CODA facilities are drug-free and smoke-free worksites. Employees may not be serving any supervised parole or probation. Individuals in recovery must have a minimum of two years in recovery post-treatment to be considered for employment.
