We Are Hiring: Certified Medical Assistant Clinical GeneticsHours: 7:30 - 4:30 Monday - FridayFull-TimeLocation: Far West Specialty: Clinical Genetics Population: Medically fragile Pediatric and Adults Travel: none Remote: none What You Will Do:Summary:
Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider). In this role, you will be responsible for follow up and track results. This role will require you to be detail oriented. You will work with labs and must understand insurance. Our clinic is slower paced, The Dr. only sees up to 6 patients per day. The NP only sees 1-2 patients virtually. This role is less hands on patient care and more admin patient care by following the patient through the lengthy process of Genetic testing. We are looking for someone who is self motivated, has a strong work ethic and reliable, with critical thinking skills and a problem solver.
  • Assist with treatments ordered by the provider as supervised by the provider or registered nurse. Perform select clinical duties.
  • Interview patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
  • May document the provider's encounter with patients. List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider. Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
What You Will Need:Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Healthcare Association obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Association for Health Professionals obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
  • 1-2 years of CMA work experience preferred
  • Excellent computer skills - understanding websites and EMR
