Training to Inspect, Repair and Install fireplaces, chimneys, and high-end products, custom products, and providing individually tailored solutions to clients while in the field. The Role of Doodlebuggers Certified Fireplace Inspection Repair Trainee:
  • We are seeking an individual with a warrior fighting spirit who is motivated and has some construction/fieldwork background to join our team as a Certified Fireplace Inspection Repair Trainee.
  • You will train to perform inspections, cleaning, repairs, and installations on fireplaces, gas logs, and dryer vents.
  • Our ideal candidate will have a go-getter attitude, love to learn, adapt quickly to change, and think quickly on their feet.
  • You should feel comfortable reading manuals, operating power and hand tools, and most of all problem-solving.
  • You will need to be able to complete specific on-the-job training, classroom training & online web training which will prepare you to take the national certification exams required to move up from trainee to a Level 1 Certified Technician. WE HELP YOU DO THIS WITHIN 120 DAYS

Hours:
  • 40 hours, Monday – Friday Serving the Escambia, Okaloosa, Baldwin, Santa Rosa, and South Walton County Areas

Job Duties:
  • Use technology & your skills (Framing, Electrical, Masonry, Mechanical, & most Construction trade backgrounds a plus) to help clients through inspections, cleanings, installations, & repairs for fireplaces, gas logs, and dryer vents.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits.
  • Diagnose problems and come up with solutions to repair them.
  • Properly document inspections and completed work with state-of-the-art field software and devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings.
  • Educate the client on how to use and maintain their products.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports.
  • Follow all company procedures and protocols.
  • Opportunity to earn nationally recognized certifications.
  • Plenty of room for advancement.
  • Hours: up to 40 hrs/week, Occasional Authorized Over Time.
  • Some out-of-town overnight jobs in Destin may be required but housing and meals are provided.

Skill Requirements For Position:
  • OSHA 10 Card (We will show you how to easily accomplish this).
  • Ability to study and understand in an OJT, Classroom, and Online environment.
  • Computer skills including use of a tablet, filling out PDF forms, texting & email.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform math calculations. Cutting & crafting finish work for outdoor kitchens is a plus.
  • Great Customer Service Skills.
  • Current Driver’s License and Clean Driving record.
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexible work schedule and willing to work after hours (nights & weekends) as needed (most weekends are off).
  • Must be of good character & attitude.
  • This is a fast-paced work in fast-paced Great attitude a must. Knowledge of electrical, construction and renovations is a plus. Follow directions and love to problem solve.
  • Pass local and national background checks and drug tests.
  • Clean and neat appearance.
