The Category Analyst mines data – analyzing pricing, product movement, the competitive landscape and other levers within an assigned department(s), in partnership with the Category Manager(s) – to maximize profitability. They are motivated, self-confident, humble, collaborative and passionate about the business – outwardly demonstrating the company's values. They must be able to juggle multiple and competing priorities effectively. The position reports directly to the Pricing Manager with a dotted line to the Category Manager or Director of the assigned department(s).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing multiple data points to form an accurate performance report of the department and/or specific items
  • Entering pricing into the system
  • Inputting advertised special deals
  • Assisting the department Director, Buyers and Category Managers with daily operational needs
  • Researching and resolving financial issues
  • Running reports
  • Communicating with individuals at all levels within the organization, as well as external partners
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

1+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance/Business or related field preferred

Strong organization, attention to detail and time management skills

Proficiency with MS Excel, particularly formula creation

Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen

Physical Requirements:

Able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $1.00 per hour
