Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Caregiver provides non-medical, in-home support and home management services to clients. He or she provides companionship to those individuals requiring socialization and minimum guidance for a safe, protected, clean, and orderly environment.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED and has completed any state-mandated training. Previous experience is preferred. In addition, he or she has a genuine desire to work with the elderly or disabled, reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and current automobile insurance. Effective oral and written skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position. RESPONSIBILITIES

- Helps resident with all personal care functions as needed
- Helps resident at mealtimes and monitors resident’s eating habits
- Helps resident to and from daily activities
- Performs light housekeeping tasks and assists with laundry
- Observes and reports any changes in the client’s mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to immediate supervisor
- Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
- Communicates with residents and families regarding care
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience preferred
- Successful completion of any state-mandated training
- Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
- Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
- Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance
