Job Description
The Cardiac Surgery and ACS Quality Coordinator coordinates and oversees the ongoing QCI process to improve care of the cardiac patient population. The Cardiac Surgery and ACS Quality-Coordinator provides support and guidance to the cardiac service line to promote excellence in cardiac patient care.This includes managing all facets of cardiac quality metric databases, including-the STS and TVT databases, which enables cardiac surgery and cardiology physicians and inter professional teams to report and use outcome data to make improvements in patient care. Responsible for insuring the data is collected and entered into the cardiac databases. Serves as a liaison between the users, Information Services, and the software vendors. Responsible for: preparing activity and status reports, training all cardiac database users, and maintaining an updated procedure manual. Cardiac Surgery and ACS Coordinator is responsible for planning, development and implementation of program goals and operational changes to support STS/Cardiac Surgery, TVT/TAVR, and ACS/Door to Balloon performance improvements and working toward acquisition of Chest Pain Center Certification. Assist and/or leads performance improvement projects benefit cardiac service line. - Education: MSN or BSN preferred. ADN with interest in evidence-based practice required. Licensure: Must have active Louisiana RN license. Experience: Must have 2-4 years involved in the direct care of the ACS/Cardiac Surgery patient in either the ED, Cath lab, CCU/ICU, or Telemetry Unit. -
