Cancer Registrar - Required: Certified Tumor Registrar (This position is remote)

As a Cancer Registrar at Children’s Health, you will be is responsible for identifying cancer cases in the institution, for recording and tracking cancer patients for life according to guidelines established by the Texas Cancer Registry and American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (COC), and for conducting statistical analyses related to the collected data. Additionally, this person will share responsibility for working with clinical staff to obtain clinical data and entering and analyzing data in departmental databases. May be asked to assist in development of research databases, performing and reporting simple analyses, contributing to publication and dissemination of results.

The candidate must be a certified tumor registrar

  • This position will work collaboratively with the other tumor registrar to abstract data for new oncology cases and enter into the required state cancer registry.
  • This is a full-time position, with Mon-Fri daytime hours. The ideal candidate will need to be local (Dallas/Ft Worth, TX).

Experience

Required: At least two-year previous Tumor Registry experience abstracting and coding in an American College of Surgeons accredited cancer program.

Education

Required: Two-year Associate’s degree or equivalent

Licenses and certifications
