Job Description
Overview: Waterman is a recognized leader in water control products for water treatment, wastewater, high-volume agricultural and rural surface water delivery, hydro-power, and flood control management. We are a leading provider of water control gates, valves, automated controls and accessories to these markets and key customers.

We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager that has the technical knowledge and a personable demeanor. We are looking to expand our sales efforts and need a candidate to help provide support for our day-to-day operations and have technical and commercial conversations with customers in the agricultural markets including irrigation dealers, waterworks distributors, irrigation districts, flood control districts and grower cooperatives. Candidate will need to have the basic mechanical aptitude to work efficiently in this market.

The Regional Sales Manager creates and executes on a growth strategy for their region. The RSM utilizes value selling, relationship building and channel management to identify, influence and close opportunities.

The Region includes California and candidate must live within the region and be prepared to travel throughout by car to visit dealers and customers.Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

  • Develop, and execute sales strategy that results in revenue growth in the region
  • Build relationships and effectively communicate the benefits and value of Waterman Valve products and solutions
  • Set sales goals with channel partners and work collaboratively with them to ensure achievement and sustainment.
  • Actively utilize and update the system with accurate data to effectively manage the funnel of opportunities
  • Prepare sales reports and sales forecasts
  • Attend trade shows and industry conferences to stay abreast of market developments and serve as an ambassador of Watrman Valve
  • Educate customers, dealers and distributors on the product portfolio and value proposition
  • Follow-up on customer issues and collaborate cross-functionally to help resolve problems


Other Responsibilities and Functions

  • Assess competitive landscape and provide market and customer feedback
  • Stay informed on the regulatory landscape in applicable states
  • Observes and complies with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintains a commitment to teamwork and a positive, supportive attitude to all personnel
  • Continually improve prospecting, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:


College education or equivalent experience
2 years customer service experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred:


BS in Agriculture Science, Engineering, Marketing or relative field
Familiarity in agriculture, water treatment, water delivery and industrial applications preferred


Minimum experience required of the position.

Minimum Required:


STEM-oriented education
Experience in Manufacturing or Technical Sales
Candidate must have basic knowledge of manufacturing
Candidate must pass Drug Test
Proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel
Basic Computer Knowledge
Self Starter and a Quick Learner


Preferred:


2 years experience


Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position.

Valid Drivers License


Working Conditions


The work environment consists of an indoor, work or home office environment with good ventilation, adequate lighting, and low noise levels.
