This is not a remote opportunity. The candidate will need to be onsite at the assigned location daily.

We are seeking an ARAD with commercial knowledge and experience in Office, Hospitality, Retail, and Restaurant

Projects to support our architectural/engineering team to design-build projects throughout Southern California.

ARAD will prepare architectural/engineering for submitting to governing agencies (i.e. Planning and Building &

Safety Departments) for development of construction plans. The optimum candidate will be proficient in developing construction documents, exhibit impressive construction and technical drawing skills, and hold current knowledge and understanding of ADA + Building codes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ARAD will produce plans based on specifications, engineering notes, sketches, and verbal direction from team and/or detailed drawings and design information according to project standards and procedures. In addition, you will compile data, perform dimensional and routine calculations required for drawing preparations. You will work under an Architect and Project Manager for their draft needs. ARAD may be required to support a variety of engineering and construction tasks based on their assignment across multiple projects over multiple disciplines.

The role of an ARAD is diversified and is mainly categorized in three main areas:

1. FIELD OPERATIONS: Work closely with project managers, project engineers, and superintendents to interpret drawings and specifications to produce architectural/engineering construction plans in preparation for plan check submittal/approvals for our field crews.

2. OFFICE ENGINEERING: Perform takeoffs from drawings, generating change, build schedule, and provide field support for RFIs.

3. CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY: Developing statement of work, perform takeoffs, assist our team by producing 2D and 3D plans based on project specifications and requirements. You will work at the site/field and in the office with internal staff, clients, and subcontractors, and will be expected to continuously check your own work, review and modify your work for the projects you are assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Accredited 4-year architectural engineering degree (BS or higher) is required
  • Strong AutoCAD skills + Sketch-Up, and Revit is required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of work experience drafting in Revit and AutoCAD is required
  • Hold current knowledge and understanding of ADA + Building codes with understanding of commonly used practices within the industry
  • Twinmotion or other 3D rendering ability is highly preferred and is a plus
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in a wide-ranging climates and environments
  • Dexterity to prioritize and manage tasks to meet schedule and deliverable deadlines (time management)
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion to learn and taking initiative
  • Strong work ethic, willing to safely do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
  • Demonstrates commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full-time, Exempt
  • Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30am – 3:00pm; occasional weekend and holiday work
  • Travel: Approximately 10% of time will be spent in the field traveling
