TRMC Financial Analyst

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate for this Financial Analyst position will be part of the KBR team currently supporting the Test Resource Management Center (TRMC) in the development of new Test and Evaluation (T&E) capabilities. The selected Analyst will work directly with the TRMC Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and program managers to ensure funding of numerous T&E programs are properly maintained. The selected candidate must be adept at working with government budget/accounting systems and must have strong experience of successfully collaborating within high-performing teams with multiple stakeholders. Requirements

  • Minimum 4 year's prior directly relevant experience
  • Understanding of federal government budget/accounting systems, processes, procedures, and regulations
  • Familiarity of Federal financial database
  • Past participation in, or exposure to, internal controls documentation
  • Strong analytic, administrative, communication, computer, and organizational skills
  • Solid financial and planning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Must be customer focused and a team player

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Test Resource Management Center (TRMC)
  • Under limited supervision, performs accounting activities related to conducting and documenting financial analysis projects and applying Government financial standards, policies, concepts, practices, and methods.
  • Support professional analysis in the areas of budgeting and reporting at the Office of the Secretary of Defense Program Element, portfolio, and project levels
  • Lead Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs) generation and processing for TRMC investment programs.
  • Reviews and analyzes financial reports and data for accuracy and identifies, reports, and corrects errors as required
  • Work with the CFO and program managers to ensure funding of programs is properly maintained
  • Support the budget formulation for Program Objective Memorandum (POM) inputs
  • Conduct review of program manager developed spend plans in support of POM initiatives.
  • Monitors contracts executed and supported by TRMC for financial compliance
  • Perform various analyses of financial reports and data from Government accounting systems
  • Summarizes and reports to management on overall financial execution and financial position as required.
  • Produces monthly trend reports and supports internal and external audits as required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and senior leaders.
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and strong personal motivation.
  • Ability to work independently and provide appropriate recommendations for optimal analysis and development.
  • Willing to interface one on one and in meetings daily with the TRMC customer and program/project Leads.
  • Willing to prepare monthly cost reports and ensure such deliverables are submitted in a timely fashion and of high quality/accuracy.

Education and Experience
