Job Description
Job Description:SUMMARYA brief description summarizing the overall purpose and objectives of the position and the results the worker is expected to accomplish.

Intern - IT works as part of a team and performs individual tasks to lead or support research, development and/or analysis on a number of IT initiatives as directed by the Senior Business Intelligence Specialist and/or other IT staff. Expected start date of May 31st and end date of August 25th.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the position that are most important to get the job done.
  • All duties/responsibilities associated with IT-related summer project(s). These could include, but not limited to: assisting in moving on-prem Data Warehouse to Cloud (Azure), research and resolve data and reporting issues, complete minor enhancements and the associated quality assurance and change control tasks, data analysis for key business metrics, creating user documentation;
  • Participate in regular departmental meetings and internship-related meetings and activities;
  • Complete a presentation to members of senior management at the end of the internship;
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and environmental compliance in all job aspects.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and the aptitude to learn new software;
  • Prior knowledge of one or more of the following areas is preferred: experience in writing solutions using SQL and/or Python, familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server Stack (SSMS, SSRS, SSIS), microsoft Collaboration Platforms (Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform, etc.), familiarity with data visualization and dashboard reporting techniques and tools (Power BI, Spotfire, etc.), knowledge/experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.);
  • Strong documentation skills;
  • Willingness to learn and ask questions;
  • Experience with typical office machinery preferred;
  • Ability to show consideration for and maintain good working relationships.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The environment in which the job is performed, especially any unique conditions outside a normal office environment.
  • Consistent with that of a normal office environment;
  • Expected to work 3 days a week in office, 2 remote.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum level of education, experience, and certifications required to perform the job.
  • Current enrollment in college/university engineering program majoring in an IT-related program;
  • Experience or course work related to business intelligence or database-related projects is preferred;
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts;
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale;
  • Ability to work flexible hours with a minimum of 24 hours a week;
  • Strong interest in energy management/technology.
