Business Intelligence Developer

The Business Intelligence Developer will develop and maintain applications for data collection, perform data management, and assist in development, design, & maintenance of our BI solutions. The BI Developer will be responsible for continuous improvement and management of the organization's data architecture through the collection, cleansing, ETL, alignment, storage, and maintenance of data from various heterogeneous sources for the downstream ease of use ensuring best practices around data integrity and availability of data. This position is a critical member of the Planning and Analysis Center of Excellence by ensuring data integrity, supporting other team members through ETL and scripting of data, and assisting in the life cycles of BI solutions, ad hoc analysis, and forecasting/planning while working closely with cross-functional teams for various departments within the organization. This role is based out of the America's Thrift Stores' Store Support Center in Irondale, AL, but may have ability to work remotely for a portion of the time.Job Duties:? Construct and optimize scripts until they are as efficient as possible, ETL, and mine data from and to heterogenous sources to design, develop, distribute, and maintain various BI solutions, ad-hoc analysis, planning, forecasting, & budgeting models, and any other data driven requests from across the organization for various departments using MS SQL, Visual Studios, Dundas BI, MS Excel, ESRI, and other methods in a timely manner.? ETL of data to streamline data flows and remove unnecessary costs from the complex, fragmented, and heterogeneous data architecture.? Leverage the latest analytic tools and processes to maximize the transformation of our data into readable, actionable, goal-driven insights for continued innovation and growth.? Ensure and execute best practices around Master Data Management while constantly monitoring our enterprise data architecture, quickly addressing any issues, and enhancing data integrity throughout the virtual enterprise.? Automate, execute, and supervise data migrations and integrations.? Create and maintain technical documentation to properly record the enterprise data architecture and processes.? Perform ad hoc data analysis and present findings as requested.? Assist with the creation of MS PowerPoint presentations of various analyses to various departments.? Develop relationships with various department members and leaders to assist with data manipulation and interpretation.? Assist in creating forecasts, budgets, planning, and other various models for various departments.? Research and suggest best tools for increasing efficiencies around the scripting and ETL of data.? Continuous improvement around knowledge, use, execution, integrity, and availability of data.? Continuous improvement through finding better solutions and self-guided continued education.? Continuously seeking other form of data (internal and external) to help communicate a complete analysis and help turn data into actionable information.? Develop and maintain various applications to ensure alignment of business and technical needs are met.? Assist in alpha and beta testing of internal applications.Secondary Job Duties:? Requirements ?

BA/BS/MA/MS in Engineering, Business, Economics, Information Systems, Finance or other quantitative focus and/or relevant certifications than can prove competencies needed such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) required.? 3-5 years of business analytics or equivalent technical field experience in a retail, operations, logistics, customer insights and/or marketing analytics supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic fast paced environment.? An inquisitive nature with desire and strong enjoyment of diving into available data for the purpose of developing new insights to grow the front end of our business. with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Data Junkie; Have a demonstrated passion for data and working in data-driven organizations.? 3-5 years of proven proficiency in writing, editing, and maintaining SQL queries to resolve complex data design problems utilizing tools such as Visual Studio (SSIS), Management Studio (SSMS), and Microsoft Azure Cloud with a successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large heterogenous datasets required.? 3-5 years of demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in relational databases such as MS SQL Server, MS Azure, and other various databases.? 3-5 years of proven experience with one or more data BI visualization tools such as Dundas, Microsoft Power BI, or Tableau? Demonstrated advanced proficiency in MS Excel required.? Preferred Experience in tools such as Python, R, ESRI, and Alteryx? Demonstrated knowledge of forecasting methodology with prior experience creating forecast models in an operations environment preferred.? 3-5 years of demonstrated organization and time management abilities while working on multiple projects simultaneously with experience working in both agile and waterfall environments while utilizing project management software to ensure details are kept up to date as statuses change balancing ensuring personal work is completed on time and teamwork.? Enjoys higher learning and maintains a current knowledge base of latest technology trends regarding advancements in Data Analytics.? Must have reliable and sufficient internet access when working remotely? Ability to travel on occasion as well as work remotely as the needs arise.
