Are you interested in identifying and executing strategic Security, Compliance & Identity (SCI) business development opportunities across the full suite of Microsoft SCI? If so, the Microsoft SCI Business Development team is the place for you. We partner with groups across Microsoft to: propose, structure, execute and provide high-quality management of strategic partnerships, develop product strategy, deliver growth, and create new business models and agreements that shape our SCI strategy.Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Identifying, researching and developing adjacent and emerging market opportunities for Microsoft’s Security, Compliance and Identity (SCI) Business to further our Security, Compliance & identity solutions in enabling our customers and partners digital transformation.
  • External Partnerships: Maintain a network of relationships across the industry with partners, potential partners, acquisition targets, competitors, investors, thought leaders, etc. Leverage relationships in opportunity identification and transaction execution.
  • Industry Expertise: Is sought out as a subject matter expert on Industry Expertise: Understanding of the security, compliance and identity market including the competitive landscape, market dynamics and product and technology trends. May represent Microsoft by speaking at industry conferences or participating in industry groups.
  • Planning and Strategy: Business strategy and market development expertise with deep analytical and business modeling skills. Strong 360-degree strategic thinking is critical to success in the role.
  • Passion: Create great end to end customer experiences including technology services that open new growth opportunities and innovations in business models and partner alliances.
  • Influence: Ability to influence and drive results in a complex and highly ambiguous technical and business environment including ability to communicate and influence all levels from senior executives on down and all functions (including engineering, marketing, sales, services, finance and legal)
  • Collaboration: Independently leading cross-disciplinary virtual teams and driving key business development initiatives for moderately complex deals from creation to implementation in partnership with senior Microsoft executives.
Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in a business discipline which could include experience in business development, consulting, marketing, sales, partner management, finance, legal, or relevant product development/software engineering experience in a role that included external-facing engagement with customers/partners.
  • Demonstrated capability spotting new trends in technology early based on industry and technology understanding.


Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a business discipline which could include experience in business development, consulting, marketing, sales, partner management, finance, legal, or relevant product development/software engineering experience in a role that included external-facing engagement with customers/partners.
  • Experience leading Business Development efforts with proven success driving industry leading partnerships and/or acquisitions, including structuring, influencing/negotiating, and managing complex commercial deals and/or acquisitions.
  • Technical acumen with strong knowledge of security, compliance and identity.
  • Demonstrated capability spotting new trends in technology early based on industry and technology understanding
