The Bus and Door Person greet and seat all guests of the establishment; clears and cleans tables in an organized and courteous manner.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • May have less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to do basic arithmetic
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant
  • Washington State Food Handlers permit and Class 12 or 13 liquor license
  • Must be a team player comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize excellent guest service and communication skills while greeting and seating guests
  • Monitor overall flow of restaurant floor
  • Monitor the entrance and exit of beverages into the bar
  • Clear and reset tables in an organized fashion
  • Answer phone and direct calls
  • Assist with food delivery from kitchen to tables as needed
  • Perform side work as needed; stocking, cleaning, and organizing restaurant and assigned work space
  • Assist with opening and closing duties
  • Other duties as assigned by the Bar Supervisor and Bar Manager, the F&B Management Team, the General Manager, and the Senior Management Team


PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Be knowledgeable about the resort area, and products and services available in restaurant
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward the workplace, co-workers, and the guests
  • Communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers effectively regarding personnel and work issues
  • Work unsupervised in a manner that is professional and consistent with company and department policies and procedures
  • Apply good judgment when dealing with customer service situations and other situations that are not clearly defined by standard operating procedures
  • Assist enthusiastically when asked to help out in other areas of either the Cascadian Kitchen or other Food and Beverage departments


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud on occasion. The employee will occasionally walk on slick, wet, snow-covered, or uneven surfaces.
