WHO WE ARE & WHO YOU ARE:The Greetings Production Facility in Leavenworth, Kansas is a fast-paced production environment that produces greeting cards. Disciplines within the plant include the Production Team as well as Production Art, Production Planning, Engineering, and Plant and Facilities Maintenance. The Greetings Plant priorities are to exceed our customer’s expectations in timing and quality while significantly reducing cycle times and reducing our total cost of product. A disciplined problem-solving approach, using a PDCA/A3 tools, by our engaged leadership team and operators is essential to achieving our lead time and cost reduction targets.
Building/Maintenance Department Manager - Leavenworth is responsible for leading technical support services for all building, equipment and security operations in the Leavenworth Production Center. Manages support levels and services to assure business success while satisfying budget objectives. Assures engagement at all levels in maintenance and facilities to enable production operations to reduce costs and meet production requirements. Develops talent and align resources to assure future business needs continue to be met.
Leads maintenance team in identifying, prioritizing, and providing service levels to optimize business results. Aligns resources to assure needed support levels. Actively engages business partners to clarify business needs, establish service priority and build strong relationships. Key working relationships with business partners include the Leavenworth, Leavenworth, and/or KC maintenance departments; plant staff and exempt level professionals, I/T, Corporate Facilities Engineering and Factory Mutual.

Partners with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Administrator and Corporate Risk Management to identify facility, equipment, and security operational requirements necessary to comply with corporate risk management and EHS regulatory standards. Assures that these standards are met operationally and reflected in the behaviors of entire maintenance and facilities team. Leads the management of facility monitoring and fire protection systems.
Develops and manages expense budgets to plan, including depreciation and utilities budgets. Provides input to develop annual equipment overhaul capital expenditure plan. Manages equipment overhaul project schedule. Oversees management of MRO parts room operations to minimize operational downtime while managing expense performance to plan. Serves as the MP2 data administrator.
Leads maintenance staff in technical partnership with engineers to identify, prioritize and implement process improvements and annual capital investments. Provides leadership on both continuous improvement efforts to optimize operational efficiency and prudent asset management.
Continually develops maintenance supervisors and maintenance specialist talent to meet stated service needs and assure strength of future team. Manages outside contractor services such as electrical and equipment contractors and office supply contractors.
This opening is for 1st shift working 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. May be required earlier or later than stated hours depending on business need.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONSThe following is required to be considered for this role:
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent AND a minimum of 3 years supervising direct reports; OR Associates degree or higher.
  • 5+ years technical operational experience in engineering and/or maintenance role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSYour resume and application will stand out if you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering or production operations.
  • Experience managing direct reports in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience with equipment and/or building maintenance.
  • Experience in managing large budgets of $5 million or more
  • Experience in managing a technical apprenticeship program.
  • Experience in managing and administering the EAM system, and maintenance & repair of Printing & Converting machinery.
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Project management experience.
  • Adept at seeing opportunities to improve upon the status quo and implementing solutions.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles.
