Summary:

The Dell Boomi Enterprise Sales Engineer serves as the subject matter expert and delivers innovative solutions and strategies to solve enterprise businesses’ integration and data management challenges. This position is office based but requires travel to meetings and field marketing events, up to 25%.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conducts discovery, drives strategic conversations and manages the technical relationship with CxO Executives and IT decision makers in highly complex and high value accounts. Establishes trusted advisor status.
  • Qualifies the most complex sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding.
  • Manages strategic technical evaluation/POC, exercising wide latitude to deliver solutions to meet customer’s enterprise business needs. Clearly articulates the benefits of Dell Boomi Platform to C-level business and technical decision makers.
  • Presents the design and value of proposed Dell Boomi solution via high-impact demonstrations and prototypes to customers, prospects, and manage at the executive level. Conducts technical white board sessions to evaluate and make recommendations around enterprise solutions. Delivers presentations at client facilities.
  • Translates customer's technical requirements to a Dell Boomi solution including mapping from ""as is"" to ""to be"" state. Facilitates customers' enterprise fit discussions, and manages customer sizing and scaling exercises to verify operability of Dell Boomi solution and service configuration within the customer's environment. Leverages third-party and/or the Channel to create and position the solution.
  • Synthesizes market, industry, and competitor data to anticipate how external factors will influence the position of the solution. Applies knowledge to maximize overall opportunity in establishing Dell Boomi Platform as a key driver for customers/partners strategies.
  • Assists in formulating the customer's long-term strategic vision and our role as a strategic partner. Provides the customer with any needed technical information in order to progress through the sales cycle, engaging with other subject matter experts or services as necessary.
  • Provides input to other cross-functional departments pertaining to product requests and product enhancements as need. Willing to interact with the product group as an advocate for the customer.
  • Coordinates with Dell Boomi Professional Services and/or Partners for technical sales support. Supports post-sale introduction to Customer Success and transition to Professional Services and/or Partners as needed.
  • Works with sales teams to help manage, support, and prioritize sales opportunities. Maintains account and opportunity updates within our CRM system.
  • Supports post-sale introduction to Customer Success and transition to Professional Services and/or Partners.
  • Owns the technical delivery of RFI/RFP requests from prospects, partners, and customers.
  • Coaches and enables Boomi Sales on how to deliver high-impact solution messaging. Assesses and verifies approach/method to selling Dell Boomi products and services, strategizes with Sales reps around upcoming projects and how Boomi can fit. Becomes a subject matter expert in Dell Boomi technology and solutions, leveraged as coach/mentor to others.
  • Supports field marketing activities including conferences, webinars, GEO, and Partner events.

Requirements:

  • Degreed professional along with 5+ years of experience working as an Architect, Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer or similar role architecting technological solutions, delivering complex POCs using cloud application integration products in an enterprise environment targeting CxO IT professionals. Must be familiar with using solution-based selling [Great Demo, Whiteboard, etc]
  • Strong technical problem-solving ability and troubleshooting skills; must have an aptitude for analyzing technical concepts, translating them into “big picture” business terms, and mapping business requirements.
  • Experience in Big Data, Analytics and metadata management space.
  • Business savvy to listen to our customers, understand, probe, then analyze our customer needs to demonstrate quantifiable business value.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of common business systems in one or more of the following applications (CRM, SFA, ERP, Oracle EBS, JDE, SAP, TPM) and processes (lead to cash, requisitions, order management, etc.)
  • Must have technical expertise in one or more of the following: Cloud Architecture, Cloud Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS), Enterprise Architecture, DevOps, Automated Deployment, Cloud PaaS Application Development, BPM, meta-models, and Data Modeling
  • Technical expertise with Big Data technologies and architectures such as Hadoop and Spark. Hands on experience configuring, managing and architecting big data solutions in Hadoop/Spark.
  • Understanding of B2B enterprise integration tools, middleware technologies, and cloud and application/data integration patterns including ESB, MOM, JMS, SOAP/REST web services, databases, and ETL.
  • Strong Database skills including SQL, data modeling and databases (e.g.) MS SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle, etc.
  • Scripting skills python, bash, perl. etc
