Job Description

CT Consultants, Inc. is an innovative, growing, and trusted engineering and architectural consulting firm, which has been providing clients with award winning projects and inspired solutions since 1922. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Biologist/Environmental Specialist to support a variety of ecological projects from the Mentor, Ohio office. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of ecological and biological sciences, wetland delineation experience with knowledge of local botany and soil science, and experience with aquatic biology. This position provides growth potential while working with an experienced team comprised of a variety of staff including Environmental Scientists, Engineers, Landscape Architects, Engineers, and Surveyors.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Ecology, Botany, or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with any combination of the following: Wetland Delineations; Familiarity with OH Flora; Federal and State surface water regulations and permitting in OH; familiarity with USACE wetland data forms, ORAM, HHEI, & QHEI forms, ArcGIS and AutoCAD; GPS; stream and wetland restoration design; aquatic and mussel surveys; bat surveys; watershed assessments
  • Willingness to travel and conduct field work in areas of rough terrain and inclement weather conditions with occasional overnight travel
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license
  • Strong spatial awareness and mapping capabilities
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Conducting field wetland delineations and quality assessments
  • Technical report preparation
  • Regulatory permitting
  • Wildlife habitat evaluations and endangered species surveys
  • Impacts assessment and mitigation planning, design, and monitoring
  • Liaison with clients and agencies
  • Stream and Wetland Restoration
  • Construction monitoring
