JOB DESCRIPTION

Bartender – Bear Beach BBQ Restaurant & Bar

POSITION TITLE: Bartender

PAY: $16.00 - 18.00 / hour commensurate with experience

DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: Bear Beach BBQ Restaurant & Bar

REPORTS TO: Resort Upsell Manager

DATE: July 1, 2021

Job Objective

Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional experience for all of our Guests. The Bartender position at (1) Bear Beach BBQ Restaurant & Bar (2) Event Center Catering will be trained in all departments. The Bartender will take orders and prepare all menu items, serve and prepare a variety of beverage products including beer, wine, liquor, cocktails and other beverage products using a variety of equipment and utensils; and assist with any other duties required by Management. The Bartender is required to keep all the workstations and the entire kithchens and Guest Floor Seating areas clean, safe and ready for Guests at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.

  • Executing the vision and plan for the (1) Bear Beach BBQ Restaurant & Bar (2) Event Center Catering;
  • Verify ID and age requirements of customers;
  • Mix traditional and creative cocktails;
  • Process payment from customers;
  • Clean glasses and bar utensils;
  • Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences;
  • Record and balance cash receipts and prepare cash deposits;
  • Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift;
  • Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere;
  • Performing some cleaning duties, such as at the service station, around the kitchen and in the dinning area;
  • Answering phones, questions, taking food and drink orders;
  • Cleaning and busing guest areas. In addition, all workstations must be kept clean and organized;
  • Keeping all workstations, Guest areas and entire Food & Beverage areas clean and presentable at all times. Sweeping and moping floors regularly, cleaning tables and counters, busing tables and counters, putting kithchen equipment back in the proper area, wiping down any cooking area, etc;
  • All Team Members including the Bartender must assist with the daily cleaning requirements and all the other duties such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning tables, taking out trash, etc; and,
  • Assisting Management and all other Team Members in keeping the (1) Bear Beach BBQ Restaurant & Bar (2) Event Center Catering clean including bi-annual deep cleaning of kitchen, bar, and bathrooms. Also, cleaning and restocking all bathrooms, storage facilities, outside areas, etc.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR ALL POSITIONS

  • First and foremost, (1) Bear Beach BBQ Restaurant & Bar (2) Event Center Catering is a very customer service-oriented business. All Team Members including the Bartender must take into account that we must always treat customers with respect and gratitude for their patronage. All Team Members including the Bartender are expected to help wherever necessary;
  • Team Member including the Bartender absences are an unfortunate part of business as people get sick, and emergencies happen. All Team Members including the Bartender are expected to cover any staff shortage to ensure that all of our customers receive the experience they deserve when coming into (1) Bear Beach BBQ Restaurant & Bar (2) Event Center Catering;
  • As a member of the Team, the Bartender is also expected to treat all Guests with respect and should be treated as if they are a GUEST in your home; and,
  • If issues arise with customers, colleagues, equipment, or facilities; Team Members including the Bartender should use all tools at their disposal and to the best of their abilities, prior to taking the issue(s) to their Manager for resolution.

Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Training & Experience

  • High school degree or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in a similar position;
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills required; Attention to detail and persistence is essential;
  • Must have strong computer skills;
  • Knowledge of (1) BBQ Restaurant & Bar (2) Event Center Catering operations is a plus;
  • Knowledge of all state and Federal Health and Safety Standards and Regulations;
  • Must have a valid California Food Handlers Card for El Dorado County within 60 days of hire, and,
  • Must have valid State Driver’s License or State ID Card.

Physical Skills

Must possess the ability to lift 30 pounds and move property promptly and with ease. Frequent bending and reaching is required. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Proper posture while using tools, computer and office equipment is necessary.

Miscellaneous Functions and Projects

  • Assists Resort Upsell Manager when needed.
  • Assists all other Team Members in any duties necessary.
  • Miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned by Management that may or may not fall within the description outlined and may be in addition to these duties.
