Position Summary:
The Automotive Sales Consultant assists potential clients during the vehicle quest and purchase process by understanding their needs and matching them to the right vehicle. The sales consultant is an ambassador of the company's standard of ethics by delivering clear communication, transparency, and product knowledge during the purchase process.
Essential Functions:
- Assist prospective clients by providing information, answering questions, obtaining requested vehicles with appropriate configurations to meet their needs.
- Stay up to date with training, product knowledge and technologies featured in all new vehicles.
- Attend sales meetings and trainings as required by manufacturer and or supervisor.
- Ability to fully explain product performance, application, and benefits to all prospects.
- Introduce prospect clients to the service and parts departments for acquaintance to dealership operation.
- Be available and responsive to customers after delivery of the vehicle to ensure complete satisfaction.
- Knowledgeable of current sales and promotions, policies regarding deposits, cancellations, and compliance practices.
- Gather necessary paperwork to expedite the financing process, when applicable.
- Take prospects on test drive/ demonstration ride explaining the vehicle's capabilities, features as well as manufacturer's warranty if applicable.
- Search our intercompany inventory to help find the perfect match for your customer.
- Outstanding communication and listening skills to help negotiate terms that ensure payment options meet your customer's budget and expectations.
- Meet minimum monthly sales objectives.
- Use mobile application for ease of finding inventory location.
Position Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid in-state driver’s license with acceptable and safe driving record
- Excellent communication, listening and organizational skills.
- Organization, teamwork and follow up skills.
- Maintain a professional, respectable, and well-groomed appearance.
- Ability to work in a technology-oriented environment.
- Customer friendly attitude
- Ability to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Ability to work extended hours at month end in a high pace dealership.
- Willingness to follow up with customers.
- Personal iPad strongly recommended.
