We are currently expanding our audit practice to meet the growing needs of our company. Consequently, we are looking for a Not-For-Profit Audit Senior Manager who has strong technical auditing skills and a commitment to excellence. Our audit professionals utilize a client-focused approach to all our engagements and work closely with a diverse clientele. The NFP Audit Senior Manager is responsible for planning, supervising and completing audit compliance and consulting engagements while delivering exceptional client management, needs assessment and day to day interaction and support. A successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to assume full responsibility for directing engagements and special assignments, can review workpapers, financial statements and reports and conduct discussions with clients. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the efforts of multiple client audit engagements in the non-for-profit industry with the ability to manage to budget
  • Supervise the work of audit team and review workpapers and conclusions preferably onsite during audit field work
  • Participate in performing audit procedures, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issues.
  • Identifies and consults with clients on the impact of new accounting pronouncements
  • Demonstrates an attitude that shows a critical assessment of reliability of client information and planned audit approach throughout the engagement
  • Drafts complex financial statements and related footnote disclosures and effectively communicates these to client
  • Performs a detailed review of team’s workflow and monitors that tasks are assigned and completed on a timely basis
  • Keep Audit Partner informed on a timely basis of client issues that arise
  • Communicate with audit teams on the status of the engagement and help resolve any client issues that arise
  • Participates in planning and execution of client engagement in collaboration with the Audit Partner on the engagement
  • Ability to lead small to medium sized engagements with finalized document and report requiring minimal change upon review
  • Interact with clients to discuss issues with regard to tax information throughout the year.
  • Develop technical knowledge through participation in organization meetings, training programs, attending industry events and participation in research activities
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of audit experience with a technical proficiency in certified financial statement audits and reviews.
  • Must be a subject matter expert of non-for-profit contracts as well as the percentage-of-completion and completed contract methods of accounting.
  • Corporate and individual taxation experience
  • Excellent client relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Non-for-profit industry knowledge preferred
  • Ability to manage staff on multiple engagements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in taxation or equivalent a plus.
  • CPA license required
  • Ability to work in a team environment, supervise staff and lead projects.
  • Proficient with a computer software packages and platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, ProSystems.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
