Summary

The Associate Relations Representative serves as a champion of all HR Generalist duties, with a heavy focus on recruiting. Responsible for the administration of the company’s new hire orientation program, establishing working relationships with all associates to foster an environment of cooperative progress, and fostering positive and innovative HR solutions. Champions culture by embracing the values of the organization; assists with maintaining the company as an employer of choice where people are valued, engaged and developed.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The position is responsible for driving all aspects of the high-volume recruiting process. This includes full cycle recruiting (screening, scheduling, interviewing, testing, managing the hiring manager relationship, negotiating, employment branding, benefit and culture questions, follow through after the candidate is hired, etc.) and managing the Applicant Tracking System.

Effectively participates in the resolution of conflict in the workplace, conducts investigations, coaches supervision on methods to improve absenteeism, turnover and plant efficiencies. Counsels associates on associate relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal and informal complaints to resolution, discipline and/or terminations, etc. Effectively uses root cause analysis to address associate issues and resolve them through a systematic and analytical approach. Develops, gains approval, and implements programs geared towards associate engagement and allegiance. Ensures consistent policy application in the resolution of issues addressed. Provides training to supervisory personnel on policies and procedures. Ensures newly hired associates receive an effective, timely, informative new hire orientation utilizing the company approved format and materials. Schedules, conducts, facilitates, audits and identifies new methods to improve new hire orientation. Provides coaching and counseling to supervisory personnel improve the supervisor’s ability to effectively direct their workforce. Participates in Peer Review and Management Review process. Identifies, designs, trains, implements and audits new methods to reduce turnover.

Reviews and analyzes HR trends (i.e., retention, etc.) and works with the supervisory team to ensure effective utilization of talent. Supports and guides associate actions by aiding with the research, development, and updating of policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; and enforcing organization values. Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting and ensuring accuracy and integrity of data. Ensures compliance and employment laws and regulations. Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by remaining abreast of existing and new legislation, adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations or related field preferred.

Experience Requirements

5+ years experience as an HR Generalist or experienced Recruiter with some HR Generalist experience preferred. Must be an expert multi-tasker with the ability to work on multiple projects, and deliver quality results. Requires strong analytical skills, analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level. Experience with and knowledge of Affirmative Action plans, I-9 requirements, ADA, EEOC, DOL, OFCCP regulations and current law. Previous experience in working in a manufacturing environment; proven experience in problem-solving automated timekeeping systems and orientation of new associates. Must have knowledge of and ability to provide strong customer orientation along with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization and a commitment to excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Requires knowledge of a commitment to team performance, effective coaching and demonstrated skills of a strong team player. Requires occasional travel to other facilities and plants for meetings.

Experience Preferred

Experience with SAP and Kronos is strongly preferred.

Bi-lingual a plus.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. May need to climb ladders.
