Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Associate Project Coordinator for the Nevada Center for Excellence in Disabilities (NCED). This position can be located in Reno or Las Vegas. The location of the position is partially flexible and dependent on the needs of the project and the applicant pool . The faculty of the Nevada Center for Excellence in Disabilities (NCED) in the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) provide comprehensive and direct program support on specific grants, contracts, and programs to assist individuals with disabilities achieve independence, productivity, integration and inclusion into the community. The positions are responsible for project coordination, supervision, communication, and budget management for projects that provide model services, disseminate information, provide pre-service and professional development training, conduct program evaluation and research, and provide technical assistance to state agencies, schools districts, businesses, the general public, individuals, and families members. Positions may exist in multiple geographic locations.

The Associate Project Specialist for the deaf, hard of hearing and speech-impaired will be responsible for providing direct client services under the Telecommunications Equipment Distribution program (TEDP). The primary responsibility of this position is to distribute telecommunications equipment and other assistive technology to eligible individuals. This position is responsible for identifying new and existing technology options, assisting individuals in identifying technology to meet their communication needs, distributes technology and provide training on how to use technology and follow up with individual to ensure satisfaction with telecommunication equipment or other assistive technology provided. Services will be provided virtually, or in-person pending physical distancing restrictions.

Required Qualifications

High School Graduation and four years of related work experience, Associate’s Degree and three years of related work experience, Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience or a Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience. Related experience: in the field of disabilities or related fields.
