PURPOSE: Primary responsibilities are to provide tactical and strategic support to the business unit. The relevant product lines for this position are personal protective equipment and welding accessories. The tactical and strategic activities include product marketing with a focus on digital mediums, product training & support, market research, new product development and product launches.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES):

  • Becoming a Subject Matter Expert – Tasked with developing an in-depth understanding of welding PPE & accessory products.
  • Product Training & Support – Day-to-day product support for end-users, distributors and Lincoln personnel.
  • Product Marketing – Work with the business manager & marketing communications to develop a marketing strategy which includes product literature, digital advertising (paid & unpaid), product promotions, training modules and more.
  • Executing Marketing Strategy - Lead the execution of the marketing strategy with our communication and graphic design teams.
  • Market Research – Manage the continuous research process to capture voice of consumer information
  • Business Case Creation – Work with a variety of stakeholders to create business cases which detail a specific product improvement or new product opportunity
  • New Product Development – Work with engineering team to support the development of new products
  • Product Launches – Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to create content required for new product launches
  • Sales Channel Support Various activities related to monitoring and growing the distribution, direct and e-commerce sales channels
  • Basic Financial Analysis – Understand basic financial metrics such as sales revenue and gross margin to be able to monitor financial performance and calculate financial metrics relating to the product lines.
  • Reports to the Business Manager


BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business or similar field
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience preferably in Sales, Marketing, Engineering or Product Management
  • Understanding of welding practices, procedures and products preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on tactical projects across multiple areas of the organization
  • Demonstrate a strong business acumen or the desire to learn relatively quickly
  • Advanced core computer software skills (all Microsoft Office applications & SAP), or the ability to learn relatively quickly
  • Prior experience with e-commerce platforms is a plus
  • Prior product marketing experience is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on tactical projects across multiple areas of the organization
  • Ability to handle a constantly changing set of priorities
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, with good public speaking ability
  • Willing to travel approximately 15% of the time
