Job Description


What You’ll Do:

The Associate Director, Web Design is part of our performance content COE and leads the creation and delivery of digital experiences and advertising creative for clients’ performance content efforts. This person will interface with internal activation teams to brainstorm ideas, review work in-progress and go over client feedback prior to final delivery. This person will act as art director for certain projects when working with the global delivery hubs when needed. The Associate Director will be responsible for ideation and creation of original artwork and will be expected to grow their skillset and understanding of how to use data to inform their designs.

This individual is expected to be an expert in one or more of our hosting/testing technology platforms and actively be a point person for projects based in relevant technology. The Associate Director will also be responsible for developing and building performance web design capabilities within the Publicis Media agencies.

Role Objectives:

Practice Development

  • Identify web design needs and opportunities across Publicis Media clients

  • Design custom web experiences across various devices for clients working to grow their online marketing efforts

  • Provide creative solutions while working within the limits of branding/style guidelines

  • Create wireframes to guide conversion focused page designs, provide specs to define interactions and element functionality

  • Development of creative templates using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.

  • Participate in UX/Conversion focused brainstorming sessions, contributing ideas and opinions

  • Keep up-to-date on web trends and limitations (especially in online marketing)

  • Assist in Quality Assurance tasks to prepare projects for launch

  • Evolve understanding of content and conversion optimization and implementation

  • Create and execute A/B and MVT tests and be a resource for experience and usability audits

  • Act as art director of Publicis agencies when necessary

  • Manage the creation, quality, consistency, and on-time delivery of all assigned deliverables

  • Work autonomously when necessary to meet personal deadlines and goals

  • Lead the evolution and enhancement of the products and processes of the department

  • Assist in Publicis agencies new business efforts, providing visual and strategic support for incoming prospects and existing client scope growth

  • Lead web design content creation for learning and development efforts

  • Create thought leadership pieces and POV’s on performance content web design


Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline

  • Must have an online portfolio showcasing recent work

  • Possess understanding of web design/development principles

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Desire to learn the why designs are successful or not

  • Must be a detail-oriented problem solver

  • 5 - 7 years’ production and creative experience

  • Expert knowledge of Adobe CS with emphasis on Photoshop and/or Illustrator and HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery/etc.

  • Extensive experience designing and developing responsive experiences that work across all browsers and devices

  • History with creating wireframes as an input for page design

  • Experience leading discussions around vision, strategy and testing ideas for all kinds of creative engagements

  • Project management experience for long-term projects that see through design to development to delivery
