Job title: Associate Development Officer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to and in partnership with the Director of Development, the Associate Development Officer will support
development efforts as Center for Creative Education (CCE) continues to grow. The Associate Development Officer will
have the opportunity to assist in building revenue for the organization through donations, fundraising efforts, and
grant opportunities to meet the mission of CCE. This position also manages a comprehensive array of marketing and
communication that is designed to meet CCE’s visibility as an expert, and resource for “arts in education.” This includes
reviewing on an ongoing basis, strategies for marketing opportunities and community outreach. The position requires
working collaboratively with leadership, the development team, programming staff, and other stakeholders.

Functions of the Associate Development Officer include:

  • Solid understanding of basic fundraising principles.
  • Work with Director of Development, development team, and marketing to design materials and
write copy.
  • Support the calendar of development opportunities to ensure effective and appropriate
outcomes.
  • Provide effective stewardship by being actively involved in community outreach opportunities
and attend community events as directed.
  • Supports the Director of Development and development team with recognition and stewardship
for donors.
  • Follow-up telephone calls and visits when necessary for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Understands communication best practices to ensure that all outreach and communication
operates consistently and ethically within the mission and values of CCE.
  • Assist the development team with communication content relative to engaging donors and
foundations to ensure continued support of the work of CCE.
  • Understands and will adhere to ethical fundraising and protecting donor privacy.
  • Assist development staff with project data entry as needed.
  • Ensure that all relevant reporting is timely and accurate.
  • Friendly, patient and a good listener.

  • Assist with all activities, events, and fundraisers that benefit the Center for Creative Education.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as required.
  • Perform other duties deemed appropriate by the Director of Development and/or leadership

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Masters degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience meeting program objectives
  • Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Read and interpret written information
  • Has knowledge with CRM platforms specifically eTapestry/Blackbaud
  • Has knowledge with Wealth Management platforms specifically iWave
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Must successfully pass Level II background check and be cleared through the Department of

Homeland Security

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA
and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative
productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal,
state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
