What you’ll be doing.

The primary mission of the Verizon Corporate Security Organization is to ensure the safety and security of employees, proprietary information, assets, and facilities. Corporate Security acts as a resource for employees to provide information on a wide variety of subjects ranging from traveler safety, physical security, global intelligence, international matters, security compliance, workplace safety, and issues relating to law enforcement.

Verizon Corporate Security Executive Protection personnel are responsible for providing executive protection, driving, and logistics support, as needed, when the Principal travels both domestically and internationally. Duties include leading the executive protection team members and ensuring the safety and security of designated the Principal(s), serving as an advisor regarding travel, safety, and logistics. domestic travel, international travel, and 24/7 availability is required.

  • Coordinate contingency plans and emergency medical response for security incidents at the residence(s) and in the field.
  • Conduct security and threat assessment audits of the property and recommend improvement for onsite security measures.
  • Maintain physical readiness of the team to respond to reasonably anticipated security threats.
  • Schedule and participate in recurring protective operations training for the team to include but not limited to firearms, tactics, driving, and medical training.
  • Demonstrate exceptional team and personal results in a close protection (field security) role, including managing logistics, advance operations, secure transportation, and managing security at public appearance venues.
  • Exercise sound operational judgment, as well as flexibility to shifting priorities, delegation and challenges.
  • Maintain communication with the Principal(s) regarding all aspects of protective operation processes.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Security and related teams to ensure the timely exchange of information regarding schedules, threats, travel, and administrative requirements.
  • Ensure the team will maintain operational proficiency for all equipment used in support of the protective operations program (i.e., vehicles, medical supplies, communication devices).
  • Preform additional duties as assigned with 24/7 availability.

What we’re looking for.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Five or more years of managing team members in person and/or remote.
  • Five or more years of law enforcement experience and/or military service (Honorable Discharge).
  • Five or more years of proven experience in executive protection, event security, advance operations, conducting site security audits, and international travel and logistics.
  • Proactive risk management skills to identify, assess, and mitigate threats to the Principal(s).
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%

  • Active security level clearance or ability to reinstate.
  • Exercise sound operational judgment, as well as flexibility to shifting priorities and challenges.
  • Meet and pass behavioral selection survey.
  • Acute attention to detail, professional, and highly developed interpersonal communication skills.
  • Judgment, decision making, time management, and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to various work environments while always maintaining a high-level of attentiveness and energy.
  • Verbal, written communication, and influencing skills.
  • Current HR 218 certification.
  • Current EMT or BLS certification.
  • Fluency or partial proficiency in other languages.
  • Federal/State Law Enforcement experience.
