Working in conjunction with the Senior Editor, the Assistant Video Producer and Editor is responsible for the organization and execution of Forge Media Group’s post production efforts, assistance with in-studio and field production work and fulfillment of day-to-day office operations.

Reports to: Senior Editor and Project Manager

Classification: Contractor to Salary, Full-Time position

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaboration with Senior Editor and Project Manager
  • Meet with clients to establish the desired feel and look for the video(s) to be created
  • Assistance on-location filming, on-set assistance as well as other production responsibilities as assigned by project manager
  • Gather and transfer all forms of media into editing software and ensure files are updated to the correct format
  • Operate computer editing systems and equipment used for video media and effects
  • Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the video's creation
  • Create an initial proposed storyboard draft of the video to present to client(s) and receive approval from Senior Editor
  • Improve sound and video quality using various software
  • Edit video to include preselected music, interviews, sound clips and other important aspects of the project
  • Ensure the correct formatting and presentation for finalized videos according to client(s) specifications
  • The ability to create, organize, and multi-task projects, manipulate audio stems and creatively craft a sound bed for various styles of videos
  • Work toward several milestones on various projects simultaneously

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Video Editing (2 years preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, television/film/commercial production, a related field or commensurate experience
  • Great time management and communication skills via phone and email
  • Understanding the fundamentals of video production and post production
  • Strong working knowledge of Davinci Resolve and the Adobe Creative Cloud, including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere and After Effects
  • Motion graphics animation experience in Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere and/or Adobe After Effects
  • Ability to understand the desired outcome of a project when meeting with client(s)
  • Experience in editing various video projects and inserting sound effects, music and transitions
  • The ability to create subtitles and .srt files
  • Comfortable working experience using the Microsoft Windows platform
  • Proficient in creating concept boards and other visual representations of planned edits for video projects
  • Ability to collaborate well with other creative professionals
  • Experience in creating training, educational and entertainment videos
  • Working graphic design knowledge
  • 2D animation workflow experience is beneficial, but not required
