PRIMARY PURPOSE:

As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for daily operations of the restaurant. You will also set the stage for guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW memories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review daily schedules and manage time off and vacation requests; coach and train on policies, procedures, and performance
  • Supervise cashiers to ensure correct policies and procedures for check handling and closing are maintained by service staff as well as manage activities; means of access and egress, to ensure complete compliance with Health Department and Fire Marshall Regulations
  • Directly communicate with the Chef on all food service and menu issues
  • Assist in seasonal menu changes and holiday menu changes
  • Order supplies through the IP System and Purchasing
  • Exercise cost controls for all aspects of restaurant operation
  • Manage pricing and maintenance issues to ensure checks can be processed correctly
  • Direct communication with guests for special requests and large party reservations
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of all menu items, including mixing and serving beverages, standard beverage recipes, preparation methods, glassware, garnishes, products, menu items, supplies and equipment
  • Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations
  • Knowledgeable of kitchen operations
  • Able to lead and mentor a team
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of service experience in a similar dining environment
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays

PREFERRED:

  • Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in a high volume food and beverage environment
  • Experience managing employees using a Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Experience working in a similar resort setting
