Department: Neurosciences

Location: West Market- Greater Heights, Katy, Memorial City. May also help cross-cover/ travel to other locations around city.

Position Type: Full Time/ Exempt

Position Summary:

UTHealth Neurosciences (UTHN) is a dynamic team that seeks to provide an enriching environment based on values of compassion for our patients and each other as well as continually striving for excellence. UTHN is looking for a seasoned leader who is experienced with promoting a patient-centered approach to ambulatory care. This role will be jointly responsible with the Market Practice Manager for actively managing all administrative and operational functions associated with assigned practices within their respective region or scope. This includes ensuring smooth and efficient clinic operations, as well as supervising clinic personnel and schedules, patient relations, time-of-service collections/cash reconciliation, budget/inventory control, and patient throughput. In addition, this position will provide support for all personnel related tasks comprised of recruitment, on-boarding, and holding team members accountable to cultural/performance expectations.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Patient Care & Clinical Operations1. Performs responsibilities in a manner that promotes the delivery of high quality patient care and exceptional customer service to patients, their families, referring physicians, vendors, the public, and other departments within the institution as needed for the clinic.2. Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines in regard to patient information.3. Assists with the development of priorities, goals, action plans, and scheduling processes to ensure appropriate number and skill mix of staff.4. Assists with the establishment of the care philosophy, scope of practice and implements appropriate standards of care and practice.5. Assists with communication and problem solving for department; serves on committees; serves as a liaison between medical staff and ancillary departments.6. Assists in the monitoring of departmental activities and records to facilitate adherence to regulatory requirements; assists with the evaluation of care outcomes and processes making recommendations for actions plans for improvement; assists with the development and implementation of practice standards, service standards, and patient satisfaction.7. Oversees compliance of staff to infection control/environmental safety practices and mandatory education requirements.8. Assists with oversight of all clinic facilities and equipment management which includes maintaining a clean safe environment for clinical inspections by regulatory agencies and coordinating building maintenance needs.9. Performs other duties as assigned.Financial & Personnel Management1. Assists with the selection, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of clinic staff.2. Collaborates with staff to identify educational needs and arranges in-service and staff development opportunities related to front and back office duties, billing and revenue cycle practices.3. Serves as a resource person while assisting with development, interpretation, and implementation of policies and procedures; assists with the planning, preparation, utilization, evaluation, and monitoring of budgets.4. Makes recommendations to increase clinic volume/productivity, clinic efficiency, decrease costs, or improve daily operations.5. Assists with management of Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and terminations, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.6. Ensures accurate submission of time and leave requests, and verifies monthly payroll statements reflect submitted and approved time.7. Produce all reports, manuals, and agendas, correspondence as directed by physicians and department administration on clinic volume, expense, patient throughput, and profitability.8. Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Proficient with EMR (Athena and/or Epic preferred)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree or experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

Two years of experience in an outpatient clinic setting; leadership experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
