The Assistant Operations Manager assists Operations Manage to ensure that all business operations are being conducted in the most efficient, effective, and profitable manner. He/She analyzes and manages the processes employed in all aspects of the Profit Center’s business, solves problems as they arise, and continually investigates the possibility of productivity

improvements.
Job Duties· Supervise, schedule and train staff to ensure efficient, effective, and profitable operation of all job functions. · Assist in the recruitment, development, training, coaching, evaluation and management of the Profit Center team. · Analyze sales and inventory performance reports and implement appropriate strategies to increase sales, improve operating efficiencies, manage assets, and increase ROI and profit sharing. · Review daily sales and inventory reports and address issues immediately. · Evaluate inventory management reports regularly to ensure an accurate and efficient annual Physical Inventory. · Resolve all customer, vendor, and carrier complaints and disputes quickly and effectively. · Ensure the Profit Center conducts all business in accordance with Company policy and procedures. · Maintain and insist upon a safe working environment in compliance with the company’s Safety Standards, OSHA and any other applicable regulations. · Safeguard and maintain all Profit Center assets – buildings, fleet, equipment, inventory and receivables. · Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Creates and nurtures a positive team environment, training and inspiring all employees to do their best work to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction. · Able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers. · Possesses a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity. · Able to interpret performance report data to determine effectiveness of business operations; takes appropriate action to adjust processes to maximize profitability. · Comprehensive knowledge of and able to apply and enforce OSHA, DOT and other material handling and facility safety regulations. · Able to learn and operate (keyboard and mouse) applicable software system (Eclipse, Mincron) used for business operations. · Able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center. · Able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment. · Read, write, speak, and understand English. Education, Training, Experience· College degree or equivalent industry experience · Minimum 2+ years wholesale distribution experience · Minimum 1+ years management experience, supervising staff preferred · Use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, to maintain customer and vendor contact files, appointments and to analyze performance data · Product knowledge related to the specific Profit Center market preferred · A proper and valid driver’s license · A driving record that demonstrates good driving skills in compliance with Company policy

Environmental Conditions

The incumbent is exposed to the following conditions in the job:Warehouses with no climate control, potentially hazardous equipment (such as forklift trucks, mechanical lift gates, hand tools, manual material handling equipment, ladders, and rubber retention straps).
The Profit Center may stock, sell and use hazardous materials – PVC pipe cement, pool chemicals, torch gas, propane gas, solvents, etc. You may be required to handle these materials.
