The Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center is seeking an Assistant Director to join our team. This position is a terrific opportunity for someone to gain additional experience and make a difference in the lives of our clients.

For over 45 forty-five years, our organization has provided mental health and holistic services in northern Manhattan for families, children, adolescents, and other adults including the elderly in a supportive and caring environment. We also have an out-patient and residential substance abuse program as well as a Therapeutic Preschool for 3-5 year olds. JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Assistant Director

PROGRAM: CHILD AND ADOLESCENT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

HOURS: 35 HOURS per week

QUALIFICATIONS: LCSW Required and degree from an accredited School of Social Work.

At least two (4) years of direct clinical experience working with children and families. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

DUTIES:

  • Supervise Therapists and Interns as assigned; provide backup when other supervisors/directors are not available.
  • Carry a caseload of approximately 25 clients.
  • Be available for emergency and crises services to clients as needed.
  • Screen clients for services and respond to inquiries from the community regarding services when Intake Supervisor is not
  • available.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation and train all staff to do the same. NE fully versed in all uses of EMR system.
  • Prepare written reports on unit activity from data; including reports and dashboards with in our EMR system.
  • Assist with the recruitment of staff; including interviewing potential new staff in all areas.
  • Responsible for overseeing the PSYKES Monitoring and Reporting; including completing the monthly clinic reports, participating in monthly webinars, overseeing that our Consent forms are entered to PSYKES each week by our support staff. Coordinating the program with our AOPD counterparts. Provide coverage for all the Directors Responsibilities in his or her absence: including Payroll and Paylocity monitoring and approval.
  • Attends monthly URC and QIC meetings when scheduled; and will review and oversee reports for these two meetings prepared by Administrative Assistant. Will work with team to improve quality and detail of these reports.
  • Attend IRC meeting when director is unavailable to do so or when otherwise requested.
  • Responsible for running and overseeing clinic staff meetings; and will create a meeting agenda with consultation with director,
  • supervisor, office manager and other staff.
  • Oversee monthly staff case presentations with clinic supervisor and team, at staff meetings. Will work with AA, Supervisor,
  • Director and others, to plan for guest speakers and internal trainings of new policies, and procedures or on clinical topics that
  • would benefit the staff.
  • Responsible for all disposition of cases when clinic director is not available; and will work with director to assure appropriate
  • screening and disposition of cases as needed and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible to monitor productivity and attendance issues with clinic director and supervisor daily, weekly, monthly and annually.
  • Responsible for handling patient complaints/concerns/inquiries from Spanish speaking families and others; in Directors absence.
  • Will attend community meetings as directed or assigned – that are relevant to our clinic and the agency. (such as the Coalition Children’s Committee) (can attend remotely when available)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Children’s Services or Administration.

Will complete a minimum of 40 session visit hours per month.

RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Director of Child and Adolescent Services and Executive Team Members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
