Job Description
POSITION: Assistant Chief of Public Safety - EventsDEPARTMENT: Public SafetyREPORTS TO: Chief of Public SafetyFLSA STATUS: Salaried/Exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees all Public Safety personnel, training programs, payroll, and accounting
  • Develops policy guidelines
  • Create SOF as directed for events or daily operations
  • Recommends disciplinary action
  • Conducts inspections and audits to assure the quality of service of subordinate personnel
  • Participates in event planning efforts and coordinates with clients
  • Conducts preliminary investigations relevant to personnel complaints
  • Intervenes in disturbances/incidents to maintain peace or to restore order.
  • Performs other related duties as directed
  • Reviews the work performance of all subordinate personnel
  • Serves as an informational source to the public for company activities and events such as athletic events, conferences, performances, etc.
  • Conduct and attend training classes (New Hire Orientation and Annual Training)
  • Coordinate badging of new employees
  • Maintain and order ID making supplies
  • Build template and jobs in ABI for scheduling of non-commissioned officers
  • Send notifications to tenants, vendors, and employees
  • Attends meetings with human Resources, Accounting, Directors, and/or others as requested
  • Order supplies as needed or assigned
  • Attend event pre-cons or security meetings
  • Oversee all part time commissioned and non-commissioned officers at events
  • Provide post-event documentation for NFL, NBA, and Concerts
  • Coordinates making sure NFL and NBA security guidelines are met
  • Attends security meetings with clients before or during events
  • Works as Lead on Duty (LOD) for assigned events
  • Process NOPD and LSP EOD payroll
  • Maintain NOPD and LSP payroll records
  • Submit payroll corrections for NOPD and LSP
  • Assist with payroll corrections for non-commissioned officers
  • All other duties as assigned.

QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must successfully pass a criminal and Driver's License background check
  • Working knowledge of Constitutional, Statutory, and Civil Law
  • Working knowledge of Business and Facility Management, Emergency Planning, Emergency Management, Legal and Regulatory aspects, Crowd Management, and Security Principles and Practices preferred
  • Supervisory/Management in Security/Loss Prevention experience, related Facility Security Management background preferred
  • You must own your own firearm.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Education and/or Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Four-year college degree preferred, but Event security-related management background could be considered
  • Minimum of 3-years' Event security experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver's license at the time of appointment and throughout employment
