Application Support Administrator

Summary:

Delaware Nation Industries (DNI) is providing Application and Database support to the Defense Information Systems Agency in Oklahoma City. We are currently looking for an Application Support Administrator to join the team and support the mission.

Responsibilities

• Application Support. Provide application support for COTS and Mission Partner written software (GOTS) which runs on various operating systems, including UNIX, OS 2000 and Windows Server in the NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments on a 24x7x365 basis. This will require a privileged access to a DISA information system, which will have an ability to access and control functions of the information system/network, administration of user accounts, etc.
• Application Support duties. Provide support for the application support duties as defined in the subtasks below.
• Installation Support.
• Implementation Support. Provide application support for implementation activities to include plan, perform and implement installations and upgrades and implement/sustain middleware application components.
• Testing Support. Provide application support for test activities to include unit/component testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing.
• Maintenance Support. Provide application support for maintenance activities to include improving performance with available tools, checking application for problems and reviewing operations to ensure only valid processes are running, optimizing the functionality of application software, diagnosing and recovering failed applications and maintaining application integrity, performance and availability.
• Monitoring Support. Provide application support for monitoring activities to include monitoring performance of and taking proactive measures to prevent service disruption.
• Web Administration Support. (Mission Essential) Provide application support for web administration activities to include creating Internet Information Services (IIS) web sites and installing, configuring and managing web applications.
• Troubleshooting Support. Provide application support for troubleshooting activities to include identifying what the problem is, gathering more details, eliminating variables, reproducing the problem, development of hypothesis of root cause and attempting a fix based on findings
• Repair Support. (Mission Essential) Provide application support for repair activities to include repairing and documentation of repairs made for future use. Repairs include such things as backing out coding and patching changes, applying patches/code fixes and fixing database errors/issues.
• Application Security Administration Support. (Mission Essential) Provide support for application security administration to include applying STIG applications, developing procedures for responding to new threats to systems to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability, ensuring the rigorous application of information Security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of application services, streamlining security using managed accounts and controlling access with permissions and roles.

• Technical service/engagement with customer representatives

Security:

• STIG reviews
  
  Education Requirements:
  5 years of relevant/recent application administration experience
  -OR-
  3 years of relevant/recent application experience AND one of the following:
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university with major in IT, engineering, science or mathematics
• Current Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or above in Web Applications
• Current Redhat Certified System Administrator or Oracle Solaris System Administrator

Certifications Required:

• *MUST have current CompTIA Security + Certification
