Job Description

As the Application Administrator, you will be responsible for business enablement through day-to-day administration and user support of Semler applications, including: Mirth Connect, Auth0, Active Directory, Tableau, Monitoring systems, and internally developed software. This role partners extensively with Semler’s internal business partners and with our third-party hosting partners and external consultants. You will monitor system performance and usage to maintain security and reliability, along with coordinating new software releases, fixes and upgrades with technical teams and users. In addition, you will recommend new features or changes to configuration/workflow based on user feedback. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on skills working with complex computer systems, along with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide application support for installation activities to include COTS software installations, application deployment functions, deployment of custom software. Debugging software deployments, resolving installation problems, determining host system requirements for application installation and operation, mapping defined requirements to the application topology, selecting suitable application editions and installing options, resolving installation problems and providing application administration services.
  • Provide application support for maintenance activities to include improving performance with available tools, checking application for problems and reviewing operations to ensure only valid processes are running, optimizing the functionality of application software, diagnosing and recovering failed applications and maintaining application integrity, performance and availability.
  • Provide application support for implementation activities to include plan, perform and implement installations and upgrades and implement.
  • Provide application support for test activities to include unit/component testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing.
  • Provide application support for monitoring activities to include monitoring performance of and taking proactive measures to prevent service disruption.
  • Provide application support for troubleshooting activities to include identifying what the problem is, gathering more details, eliminating variables, reproducing the problem, development of hypothesis of root cause and attempting a fix based on findings.
  • Provide support for application security administration to include applying Security Technical Implementation Guides guidelines to application, developing procedures for responding to new threats to systems to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability, ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices.
  • Manage user accounts and roles in accordance with all security policies

· Works closely with outside vendors for complex troubleshooting, maintenance, enhancements, and upgrades.

· Monitors applications for HITRUST compliance to standards and policies.

· Collaborate with cross functional teams to maintain efficiency, consistency, and achieve successful implementation of applications.

· Participate in all phases of project development life cycle.

· Provide application specific technical training for business users and other IT staff, including the creation of knowledge articles.

· Able to create and maintain reporting and analytics to support applications.

· Provide on-call coverage support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience working in Technology
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other related technical degree.
  • Advanced understanding of Identity & Access Management and its role in supporting IT services.
  • Database inquiry (SQL) and understanding of relational database principles.
  • Experience in a Business Analysis role in the delivery of information technology services (preferably within a team employing Agile methodologies).
  • Technical experience operating, monitoring, configuring, and managing the following IT services:
  • LDAP and Active Directory
  • An enterprise Identity Manager solution
  • An enterprise authentication or single-sign-on service (preferably Auth0 and Azure SSO)
  • Experience with Agile backlog grooming and prioritization.
  • COTS and SaaS based applications
  • Windows proficiency
  • Linux proficiency (nice to have)
  • Experience with Mirth Connect HL7 integrations (nice to have)
  • You must be a quick learner with the ability to grasp and enhance business processes, have great attention to detail, and possess a passion about your work and how it can make a difference in our continuously changing environment.
