Perform general accounting work following numerous and varied standardized office and accounting procedures. Collect invoices/documents received for processing either in hard copy or through printing and matching documents received via email. Validate that all invoices received for processing have required support attached (PO's, shipping documents, etc.) and the appropriate authorizations (based upon approved authorizers and authorization limits), and proper coding. Input and verify entry detail for accountants payable inputs ensuring batches are balanced and any error flags are resolved.
Responsible for timely and accurate keying and processing of invoices, journal entries, including check and wire transfers, and related documents into system. Responsible for refund maintenance.Responsibilities:What you get to do each day includes:

- Responsible for gathering invoices either via hard copy or through printing and matching documents received via email.
- Responsible for validating that all invoices received have appropriate supporting documentation attached (PO, shipping, confirmation, etc) and are properly authorized.
- Responsible for the keying of validated invoices, journal entries, and refund maintenance into the Accounts Payable system in a timely and accurate manner; balancing daily invoices.
- Other miscellaneous/administrative duties as required/requested. This would include department support functions such as filing, faxing, scanning, packing of paid invoices, matching checks, mail sorting and distribution, report distribution,etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of related experience to include high-volume data entry.
- Accounts Payable experience is preferred.
- Strong data entry skills-10 key proficiency with 12,000 to 15,000 keystrokes per hour with 99% accuracy rate on a PC utilizing a mainframe system
- Ability to operate basic office equipment, including calculator, copier, check folding machine, and printers.
- Ability to monitor and print out documents received via email.
- Attention to detail and the ability to spot incorrect entries.
- Ability to set priorities and achieve set deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- PC and keyboard skills-Microsoft Office-Word and Excel Proficiency; Outlook
- 2-3 years of related accounting or accounts payable experience.
- GEAC MSA Accounting system.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and willing to learn new tasks.
- Ability to work independently, understand and implement all departmental procedures and schedules.
