This is an opportunity to take on a key role in the development of best-in-breed financial applications aimed at providing consumers leading-edge tools to maintain their financial life. Candidates should be well versed in Android development using Java or Kotlin, working with a diverse team of developers, designers and testers in an Agile environment.

As a Software Engineer for Android Mobile Apps, you will develop mobile applications, design and implement full stack app foundation features as well as core app features from ground-up that enable devices to provide delightful user experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with product, design and UX to develop a new banking experience
  • Contribute to the development of Android applications
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies
  • Design, develop, and refine features and functionality
  • Develop and maintain high quality code using industry best practices
  • Publishing builds through pipeline and app store submission process.
  • Instruct, direct and quality assure the work of other developers and analysts.
  • Gather client requirements, analyze, design and create complex application solutions.
  • Prepare detailed specifications from which complex programs will be written.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s Degree and four to seven years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience
2. In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices
3. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function
4. Ability to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems by applying best practices
5. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications:


1. 3+ years of experience developing high availability applications for the Android platform
2. Fluent in Kotlin or Java Strong UI development skills
3. Knowledge of asynchronous programming techniques including Coroutines
4. Experience implementing applications based on MVVM and Clean Architecture
5. Experience with APIs, TDD, Design Systems, AWS, Device and Network Management is a plus
6. Experience with network libraries like RetroFit and REST APIs
7. Knowledge of GSON, JSON, HTTP and Javascript is desirable
8. Demonstrated problem solving abilities focusing on application design, test driven development, and code quality
9. Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) a plus
10. Well versed in source control, especially Git
11. Past experience working in Financial industry is a plus
