Job Description

This job reports to the Dean of Math and Science and pays $36,340 (Minimum Annual Salary under 10- Month Contract)


Duties:
  • Provides instruction to students in both theory and practice in Anatomy and Physiology.
  • Incorporates a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students with differing educational experiences, experiential backgrounds, and learning styles to assist them in meeting course competencies. Evaluate students’ progress toward stated course competencies and inform them of their progress in a timely manner.
  • Provide quality and timely access to students and communicate availability though appropriate methods such as posted campus/office hours and electronic communication. Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, and the community.
  • Participate in non-teaching assignments including instructional development, academic advising, student orientation, registration assignments, college-wide and/or division activities and committees, professional development, internal and external service, and other assigned responsibilities determined in consultation with the dean.
  • Position requires teaching 15-18 credit hours each semester. Teaching assignments may be on one or more of the college’s campuses or offsite locations and may include concurrent enrollment, evening and weekend programs, online instruction, and other instructional modalities.
Qualifications:

Master’s degree from an accredited university in biology or a related field. Preference will be given to those candidates who possess 18 graduate hours or other documented qualifications related to Human Anatomy and Physiology. Candidate should be familiar with PowerPoint/Prezi; Blackboard or other online modalities (including online textbooks and instructional websites); and should possess computer skills in word processing and digital literacy. Must be proficient in both written and verbal communication.
