Job Description
Transplant Surgery Division - Living Kidney Donor program Advanced Practice Provider

The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP/ PA-C) at the rank of Teaching Associate on a twelve-month service period (July 1 – June 30). The anticipated start date is Winter 2021. The position will be a prominent and active member of the Living Kidney Donor (LKD) Service and will work with the Program Directors and Transplant Administrator to lead the direction and growth of the program.

Evaluation, selection, and management of living kidney donors is central to the role and the individual will be expected to develop the requisite proficiency in this field to have significant autonomy and expertise in caring for these donors in both the pre- and post-surgical phases. This position will participate in patient care in the outpatient setting and will provide backup coverage as needed for living donor kidney or liver transplant inpatient admissions. Additionally, they will lead the use of DASH screening for living kidney donors to ensure timely response by Living Donation team members.

This individual will collaborate with leadership and marketing to design and direct LKD Champion efforts and outreach efforts to educate designated community entities regarding living donation.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or accredited Physician Assistant program

  • Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA

  • Current and valid state licensure as an ARNP or PA in Washington State
