Job Description
We Are Hiring:Schedule: Full time rotating shifts and every other weekend

  • Must be able to float to other Metro AMITA hospital pharmacies as needed

This role is eligible for a $1,500.00 sign-on bonus, provided you successfully complete all pre-employment requirements subject to the terms and conditions of the offer and meet the minimum eligibility requirements. Former associates of six months or less are not eligible.

  • Responsible for IV and chemotherapy admixture, order entry, decentralization, auditing peer's work, quality assurance sign off with barcode scanning, controlled substance oversight, and billing.
  • Serve as a resource for automation technology, training & involvement with IV workflow, carousels, automated dispensing cabinets, trouble shooting, compounding, and robotics.
  • Provide advanced cross-training for dedicated buyers, staff, operating room satellite, and retail.
  • Onboard, train, and mentor new hires in pharmacy operations.
What You Will Need: Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association preferred.
Education:
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
Additional Preferences:
The ideal candidate must have:

  • Reliable transportation to be able to float to other hospital pharmacies as needed
  • Prior IV experience is a must
  • Prior ADC (Pyxis or Omnicell) experience
  • EPIC experience preferred
