Our Woodbourne School provides therapeutic educational services to males residing at the Woodbourne Residential Treatment Center and to students from the community who need a more specialized and intensive school program in order to be successful. The Special Education Office Assistant will servie as an administrative assistant to the Nexus-Woodbourne School Principal and designated Special Education Coordinator.Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and clerical support for management, program and department staff.
  • Provide reception support for the Woodbourne School as it relates to IEP, student records request from LSS, LEA, parent and other stakeholders requesting student information.
  • Actively participate in assigned committees and take and transcribe meeting minutes where requested.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required by Nexus; understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of all Nexus/Woodbourne proprietary information, including the confidentiality of resident’s information/issues in compliance with all licensing regulations, Nexus policy, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned or apparent.
Qualifications:Education, Credentials and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience,
  • PC literacy and experience in Microsoft Office products Word and Excel required.
  • Proficiency in various general office equipment required (copiers, faxes, phones.)
  • Comprehension of the needs and demands of an educational setting with a greater understanding of special education services preferred.
