How This Role impacts Live Oak and its People
The Accounting Supervisor for Operations and Accounts Payable impacts every aspect of Bank and Subsidiary accounting. This role is responsible for policies, procedures, and overall efficiency of accounting operations.

What You’ll Do at Live Oak

  • Responsible for month-end close out of Bancshares, Bank and affiliates
  • Responsible for appropriate treatment of Company transactions
  • Stays abreast of accounting pronouncements
  • Supervises Bank’s Accounting Associates and Seniors within the Accounting Operations function

How You’ll Do It

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining accounting operations policies and procedures
  • Maintains and seeks to create efficiencies in accounting operations
  • Monitors the General Ledger daily for significant changes, out of balance items, and elimination entries
  • Responsible for month-end close out of Bancshares, Bank and affiliates, to include equity adjustments and reconciling entries
  • Ensures that intercompany transactions, income tax accruals and other monthly or quarterly entries necessary for closing that are the responsibility of others within finance are recorded before books are deemed closed
  • Provides oversight for the fixed asset, prepaid and accrual ledgers as large items are identified
  • Ensures that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained in accounting operations
  • Works with Loan Operations Manager on cross-team general ledger, process, and new product issues
  • Maintains company-wide leases and makes appropriate intercompany entries
  • Stays abreast of accounting pronouncements
  • Maintain proper documentation as required for record retention purposes
  • Engage in special projects as required

Required and Preferred Experience

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or CPA certification
  • Required: 5 years of related experience in the Financial Accounting industry
  • Required: Proficiency in computer software packages
