Enhance Ameritas' competitive position and increase sales production. Provide effective and timely response to (internal/external) requests for illustrations, case design, product education and guidance. Demonstrate and deliver sales and marketing materials, including illustrations, while presenting Ameritas in an accurate and favorable position relative to competition.

Access and deliver resources to internal and external associates that will assist their efforts in increasing sales production. Function as part of a tiered sales support team valued for knowledge, timeliness of responses, and for delivering content which positively impacts sales. Alignment and execution among team members is essential for success in this role.

Exercise personal discretion and judgment in maintaining objectivity among groups/individuals, to communicate in a diplomatic manner effectively handling changing and stressful situations, and diffuse conflict while negotiating win-win outcomes. Strong interpersonal, oral, listening, and written communication skills will be key. Problem-solving skills, patience, and adaptability will be important to success in this role.

What you do

The role will involve a mixture of Producer Relations and Field Sales Development, with associated duties and approximate percentage breakdown shown below.

  • 85% National Marketing Sales Development Line
  • Answer sales development calls in a timely manner. Provide materials on cases of immediate need.
  • Consult on case design with agents / field offices/ Ameritas representatives and provide illustrations
  • Guide field partners when appropriate with product selection and any sales/marketing related questions
  • Develop expertise of Ameritas illustration systems and educate agents on illustration and product design; troubleshoot software related issues.
  • Act as home office resource assisting in resolving problems that arise involving all areas of the company, including licensing, commissions, software, new business and POS. Direct calls to the proper area while maintaining ownership of all referred calls to ensure timely response.
  • Document in SalesForce.com CRM all issues, results, and opportunities and ensure both internal and external partners are properly notified.
  • Perform other duties as needed/assigned, including ongoing projects assigned by leadership.
  • Participate in team and regional meetings as assigned by manager
  • Continuously enhance skills through professional development activities (reading, formal and informal education, training classes, special projects/assignments). Maintain acceptable levels of product knowledge of multiple current offerings by attending webinars and training sessions.
  • Organize and maintain current product documentation and concepts.
  • 15% Proactive Field Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationship with RVP
  • Proactively contact key office personnel in assigned agencies assisting and educating on products, illustration software, promotions etc.
  • Provide on-going sales development by communicating messages, sales promotions, and concepts to the field via multiple technological channels
  • Maintain on-going relationship-based communication to develop strong working relationship with offices.

What you bring

  • Basic knowledge of the insurance industry including life insurance, disability income, and annuity products is necessary in this role. A minimum of one-year related experience in the insurance industry is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), illustration software, and various internet-based tool and applications required.
  • If not currently held, must obtain life/health license within six months of entering the position.
  • If not currently held, must obtain FINRA Series 6 OR Series 7 within one year of entering the position.
